七五三(shichi-go-san) marks specific milestones in a child's life at ages three, five, and seven. These ages are considered crucial stages of development, and capturing images during these times allows families to document and celebrate these milestones.

医療の発達していない時代は子どもの生存率が低く、7歳までの子どもは「神様から預かった神の子」と言われていました。
子どもが無事に成長していくことを節目ごとに感謝し、祈る儀式がルーツだと言われています。
平安時代に行われていた3歳の「髪置き」5歳の「袴着」7歳の「帯解き」に由来すると言われていて、七五三と呼ばれるようになったのは明治時代のようです。
